Have you successfully transfected cardiomyocytes?

Yes, we have successfully transfected iCell® Cardiomyocytes and have evaluated several transfection reagents for delivery of plasmid DNA (pDNA), small interfering RNA (siRNA) oligonucleotides, and reporter gene constructs. We routinely observe the highest efficiency, lowest toxicity, and quickest response with ViaFect Transfection Reagent (Promega).

Using a common GFP vector and transfecting with ViaFect reagent, cells showed very high expression at <20 hours as quantified by flow cytometry, low toxicity as determined by CellTiter-Glo Luminescent Cell Viability Assay (Promega), and GFP expression for several weeks.
