Can I use BacMam-mediated and viral-mediated gene delivery reagents and methods with iCell Cardiomyocytes2?
Yes, we have tested the BacMam system and adeno-associated viral (AAV) methods for exogenous delivery of genes such as GFP into our iCell® Cardiomyocytes2 and iCell Cardiomyocytes. Our customers have also successfully used lentiviral based methods on these cells. We cannot provide a protocol at this time, but we can offer general guidelines and recommendations that will be helpful for getting started. We recommend that you optimize the procedure for your gene of interest and consult the vendor for additional information and troubleshooting information. The biggest difference you will note between the two versions of these cells is the shorter workflow enabled by the faster recovery time of the iCell Cardiomyocytes2, which will be ready for transduction at 4 days post-thaw.
